Oops, I somehow managed to post the whole Email I received from Jenny rather than sift through to find the relevant info, so following is an abridged version that at least gives us some vague idea on his progress. Ed
Blue is battling along reasonably well considering what he has been through of late. He is still his bubbly self on his good days and taking one day at a time.
“He gets tired at times which is to be expected from the chemo. Walks now with the aid of a walking stick (had a walker when he left hospital) and l drop him at ‘the office’ (local TAB and pokie place) for a couple of hours most days where is catches up with his friends.
The oncologist seems to be pleased with how the cancer markers (shows in blood tests) have decreased since Blue was first diagnosed in April ’14. He will have another CT scan sometime this month. At the last scan in January the tumour had remained stable.”
He and Jenny often spend time doing day trips, going out to lunches and sightseeing,
I must add that an Email such as this is refreshing to see as I know what I can insert into the Blog and not have to rely on what I think I heard over a phone conversation.
Any more such updates are more than welcome.
On this note I might add that I was talking to Blue Hickey the other day and things aren’t quite as bad as Blue was lead to believe earlier and he sounds a heck of a lot more positive than before. Hopefully he will send in a report soon so we can pass on the news. (Hint Blue)
Regards
Glen
